Summer Camp Program

Our Building Rainbows Day School summer camp programs in Cypress and Tomball, Texas cater to children from Kindergarten graduates up to the age of 12. Summer camp provides kids with vibrant mix of off-site and on-site field trips, arts and crafts, games, sports, and other thrilling activities.

Children’s Activities

Each day, children immerse themselves in a captivating world of arts and crafts, music, and cooking activities. They participate in fun and educational trips one to two times per week. They visit places like museums, laser tag arenas, bowling alleys, skating rinks, rock-climbing facilities, movie theaters, nearby parks, splash pads, and so much more.

Cooking Projects

Our cooking projects aim to diversify and enrich children’s diets, introducing new and healthy foods, which include an array of vegetables and herbs harvested from our gardens. Every year, the children engage in preparing and tasting basil pesto, chimichurri sauce, and tomatillo sauces using ingredients like basil, parsley, and peppers, which they often pick themselves. Furthermore, they learn to make bread, ice cream, and pasta from scratch.

To expand the children’s culinary horizons, we source unusual fruits and vegetables from local markets like Fiesta, that familiarize the children with novel foods that they might not have tasted before.

Art Projects

The children also participate in comprehensive, long-term art projects that span days or even weeks to complete, which culminates in an end-of-summer art show for parents. This artwork is proudly displayed throughout the school until the following summer.

Annual Carnival

Finally, our school-aged children organize a highly anticipated annual end-of-summer carnival for their younger peers, where they manage the games and food stations, serving treats like snow cones, popcorn, and pickles. In the run-up to the carnival, the older kids create poster boards, devise game rules, and determine the prize structure for each game. This event is one of the most eagerly awaited highlights each year.
