Before & After School Program

Both our Tomball and Cypress Building Rainbow Day School locations provide before and after school care to many local elementary schools. Mornings offer children the opportunity to have breakfast and engage in an array of activities, including games, puzzles, and arts & crafts. After school, kids are given a snack, time to tackle their homework, and then the freedom to play outside or explore various indoor centers. We alternate between organized activities and ‘free time’, allowing children the autonomy to choose their preferred activities.

School Closures

During elementary school closures, such as during Winter and Spring Breaks, school-aged children frequently have the chance to participate in off-site field trips. These trips may include exciting activities like bowling, movie outings, rock climbing, museum visits, and other kid-friendly experiences. Please note that field trips involve separate charges, which will be disclosed prior to the outing.

Playground & Gym

Our school-age classrooms benefit from spacious playgrounds that feature climbing structures, swings, and a basketball hoop. An expansive open field offers space for games such as soccer and football. At our Tomball location, elementary-aged children can use the indoor gym during inclement weather or on hot days for additional play and learning activities, including soccer, dodgeball, and jump rope. Especially during summer and holiday weeks, the children frequently participate in team activities like relay races, soccer, basketball, or sack races.

Vegetable Garden

At our Cypress location, elementary-aged children are also actively involved in planting the vegetable garden. Teachers regularly guide them through the garden to monitor the growth and partake in harvesting the vegetables. Often, the children can take home the vegetables they’ve helped to harvest.

Annual Carnival

Our school-aged children annually organize a carnival for their younger peers, where they ‘work’ the games and food stations, providing treats like snow cones, popcorn, and pickles. In preparation for the carnival, the older kids create poster boards, establish game rules, and devise the prize structure for each game.
